Week of March 21-March 25

What we will be learning about...
  • Reading: fact and opinion, we will using advertisements from TV and magazines to help us understand facts and opinions. We will be creating our our advertisement posters filled with facts and opinions. Ask us at home what a fact is and what an opinion is!
  • Science: we will be doing a hands-on activity about the layers of soil. We will be examining how the particles of soil layer and what is in each layer. Ask us what we have discovered!
  • Math: we will be continuing to learn about fractions. This week we will focus on mixed numbers and improper fractions.
  • Writing: we are currently working on short reports about a famous person. We are also working on our cursive handwriting throughout the week as well.

  • April 8: book fair begins

Author's Chair

When we complete a story in our writer's notebook, we share our writing. We call this time of sharing our writing "Author's Chair." Students are able to be in the spotlight and wear silly glasses. We hope to share some of our writing very soon! We are wonderful writers!
