Reminders...
- Please sign your child's planner daily. Also, please be sure to look over your child's homework each night. Please sign their homework reading log on Thursday evening.
- All work sent home in yellow Tuesday folders may be corrected and turned back in for credit. Please encourage your child to correct their assignments to improve their grades.

Week of March 28-April 1
Today, you will be receiving your child's progress report in their homework folder. Please review this report, sign it, and return it with your child on Wednesday.

What we will be learning about...
- Reading: we were be reviewing how to sequence fiction and nonfiction stories.
- Science: we will be learning about what compost is and how it helps the Earth.
- Math: we will be continuing to learn about fractions. This week we will focus on circle graphs and we will have a final test on fractions on Friday.
- Writing: we are currently working on short reports about ourselves. We are also reviewing grammar and continuing to learn our cursive letters.
- March 29: Spring into Reading night at 5:30-- come see our performance!!
- March 30: Field Trip to AHS to view a play, "We the People"
- April 8: Book Fair begins
- April 14: McDonalds night

What we will be learning about...
What we will be learning about...
- Reading: fact and opinion, we will using advertisements from TV and magazines to help us understand facts and opinions. We will be creating our our advertisement posters filled with facts and opinions. Ask us at home what a fact is and what an opinion is!
- Science: we will be doing a hands-on activity about the layers of soil. We will be examining how the particles of soil layer and what is in each layer. Ask us what we have discovered!
- Math: we will be continuing to learn about fractions. This week we will focus on mixed numbers and improper fractions.
- Writing: we are currently working on short reports about a famous person. We are also working on our cursive handwriting throughout the week as well.
- March 23: picture day: be sure to wear a smile!
- March 24: PTO night
- March 29: Spring into Reading night
